License recommendations

This article describes what you should do to avoid losing the license.

Each license is equipped with a protective system against license cloning.
This system puts the license in a “Cloned” status that will irreversibly deactivate the license making it unusable. To regain a working license, it is necessary to generate a new one.

To avoid that the protective system activates and that the license status becomes “Cloned”, it is mandatory that the physical or virtual machine that hosts the license is not subject to the change of:

• Domain name (at any level)
• Host name

Should you need to change one of the above, you would have to temporarily move LeanCOST license to another machine before you make any change. Once you modified the domain name/host name, you can return the license to the original machine.
