LeanCOST Platform configuration

This article provides an overview on license configuration and related installation scenarios.

Each license type implies two different architecture configurations, and each configuration determines a LeanCOST installation scenario: that’s why it’s important to define the configuration in advance.

The same corporate network can host a mix of license type configurations.

Floating license (net)

Floating licenses are installed on a machine in the same net of client machines that use LeanCOST. You should decide where to install LeanCOST database, if on the same machine that hosts licenses or on a different one. Please note that database server needs to be in the same network of client machines.

Option A.1: database server and license server and on the same machine

Option A.2: database and license are on two different machines

Node-locked license

Each license is installed on each client PC and it is usable only on the client where it was installed.
You should decide where to install the database, on a shared server or on each client. If there is more than one client, a centralized database is suggested.

Option B.1: shared database license on the same network of licensed machines

Option B.2: database stored on each licensed client machine
